Richard L. Crawford, 54, of 503 Northern Ave.,
died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.
He was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Gas City to Ira
and Martell Kirby Crawford. On March 1, 1980,
he was married to Jeanne Corcoran.
She survives.
He was employed by Wolf Construction Co.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean
War and was three times the past commander
of the American Legion, where he also was
Second District commander. He was a member
of the 40 et 8, the VFW, the Shrine Club, the
Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Tipton Masonic
Lodge and the Marine Globe Club.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard "Skip,"
Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steve, Palm Springs,
Calif.; a daughter, Lisa Sheldon, Palm Springs;
two stepdaughters, Roberta Jeanne Hicks, Simi
Valley, Calif., and Dawn Biddle, 124 Melbourne
Ave.; a brother, Robert, Rt. 1; four sisters,
Jackie Stephenson, 2422 George St., Deanna
Forker, 104 Oak Tree Court, Betty Heater,
402 Yorktown Road, and Kandy Carr, Albuquerque,
N.M.; three grandchildren; seven stepgrand
children; one stepgreat-granddaughter and
several nieces and nephews.
A daughter preceded in death.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in
Kroeger FuneralHome, the Rev. Raymond Skelton
officiating. Burial, with military honors, will
be in Legion Circle of Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today in
the funeral home.
