EUGENE G. "GLEN" SHORES

Eugene G. "Glen" Shores, 93, of Elyria, passed away peacefully Monday, December 21, 2013 at Avon Oaks Nursing home. He was born in Belvidere Tennessee, coming to Elyria in 1944.
He worked for American Radiator Co. for almost two years and in 1945 began working at the Elyria Foundry, retiring after 40 years of service.
He attended Second Baptist Church in Elyria. He enjoyed bowling, where he received many awards; gardening, cabinet making, auto mechanics, and…he enjoyed sharing words of wisdom to his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Dale Eugene Shores of Cleveland; four grandsons; one great-granddaughter; his nephew, Earl A. (Patricia) Shores and niece, Joyce (Elder Allen) Gibson, of Elyria, his caregivers; a special niece, Vanessa Shores-Booker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Shores; second wife, Ollie Mae Shores (nee Hill); parents, Thomas Oliver, Sr. and Elease E. Shores; brothers, John Shores (who passed away on December 23, 2013); Thomas Oliver, Jr. Shores, James W. Shores and Floyd D. Shores.
Friends may call Monday, December 30, 2013 at Second Baptist Church, 427 Chapman Lane, Elyria, from 11 A.M. until time of Service at 12 Noon. Elder Allen Gibson will officiate and Rev. Carl P Small will co-officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
