Rock Musician. He was the co-founder along with Steve Peregrin Took of the influential 1970s rock group, T. Rex. With the classic lineup of percussionist Mickey Finn, bassist Steve Currie & drummer Bill Legend, their hit songs included "Ride a White Swan," "Bang a Gong (Get It On)," "Jeepster," "Children of the Revolution," "20th Century Boy," "Telegram Sam," and "Metal Guru" from the albums, "T. Rex" (1970), "Electric Warrior" (1971), "The Slider" (1972) and "Tanx" (1973). He was at the forefront of the Glam Rock era. The plaque marking his grave is often stolen by his fans, and is continuously being replaced. On the anniversary of his death, hundreds of his fans converge to Golders Green Crematorium to honor his memory. In 2020, T. Rex was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
