Henry de la Bruyere Carpender (1882-1934)

Parents:
John Neilson Carpender and Anna Neilson Kemp. Their home is now College Hall on the Douglass campus of Rutgers University.

Hall-Mills murder:
He was a cousin of Eleanor R. Mills. Although he and Henry Stevens were early suspects in the Hall-Mills murder he was never brought to trial.

Death:
He died 8 years after the trial on May 26, 1934. His obituary appeared in the New York Times on May 27, 1934.

Legacy:
There is an endowed athletic scholarship named for him at Rutgers University.
