Charley E. Berger, 86, a resident of Fredonia until moving to Golden Keys Nursing Home in Neodesha in June 1993, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994, at Neosho Memorial Hospital in Chanute.

He was born in Pratt County, Nov 29, 1907, son of Wilson and Maude (Lee) Berger.

On Sept 28, 1934, in Wilson County, he married Lena Mary Butner, and she died March 27, 1988.

He was a Retired Mechanic for the Wilson County Highway Department.

Survivors are two sons, Earl Gene Berger of Fresno, Calif., and Larry C. Berger of Smithville, Mo., one brother Lester Berger of Montosano, Wash., eight Grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, One son, Murle Leroy Berger, and one grandson, Dale Berger, preceded him in death.

Gravside services will be held Friday, April 29, 1994, at 2 p.m. at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Rev. Max Dawson of the Bible Baptist Church will officiate. Timmons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call at the funeral home until 5 p.m. today and on Friday, April 29, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
