Doris Ann Korba, 75, of Peru, died on 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.

She was born Doris Ann Alcorn on October 18, 1930 in Ft. Myers, Fla. to the late John and Margaret Alcorn. She was married to Thomas Korba in June 1981 in the Wallick Mansion, Peru.

Mrs. Korba was a licensed practical nurse with Dukes Memorial Hospital, where she worked in pediatrics and surgery/recovery for more than 22, years retiring in 1993.

Upon her retirement from nursing, Mrs. Korba worked at Annie's Attic, Peru, where she made many cherished friends. Doris volunteered in the nursing station many years with the Peru Circus. She was a member of the Tuesday night Bible Study at the Peru Grace Brethren Church. Mrs. Korba enjoyed doll collecting, doll making and spending time with her loving husband, family and friends of all ages.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; sons Robert Christensen and wife Debbie of Fortville; and John Christensen and wife Linda of Santa Rosa, Calif.; daughter Susan Christensen Lynch and her husband John of Elkins W.V.; step-sons Mike Korba and his wife Marti of Russiaville, and Dave Korba and his wife Janis of Kokomo; brother John Alcorn and his wife Edna of Clearfield, Ky.; a deceased sister, Peggy; grandchildren Jacob Christensen of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Kristi and Kevin Lynch of Elkins, W.V.; and Lauren and Spenser Christensen of Fortville; step-grandchildren Tony Korba and wife Jeana of Bunker Hill; Nikki Korba Logsdon and her husband Kerry of Tipton; two great-granddaughters, Lauren Kennedy Logsdon and Rhegan Nichole Logsdon; and her loving dog, Buster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St., Peru, with Rev. Frances I. Kilcline III officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru.


There will be a Prayer Service at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the St. Charles Catholic Church.
