Another Veteran Gone. The Ranks Of The "Boys of 61" Thinned By Death At Middletown. Capt. George A. Bowne, a civil war veteran, died last Wednesday afternoon at the age of 79 years at the home of his sister, Mrs. Sarah Crane of Middletown village. Capt. Bowne was a widower. His wife was Mary Wilson. He was a captain in the 29th regiment in the civil war. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lydia Havell of Fair Haven and Mrs. William Thompson of South America. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at the house and burial was made in Fair View cemetery. The sermon was preached by Rev. J. A. Thomson and the service at the grave was conducted by Arrowsmith post of the Grand Army, of which organization Capt. Bowne was a member.
