Alvin B. "Sarge" Allman, 89, of Fernwood Drive, husband of the late Viola E. Allman, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at the V.A. Medical Center.

Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, September 12, 2003 at 3 p.m.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Allman of Thomson and Brenda Garrison of Aiken; five grandchildren, Chris Allman, Melissa Miller, Ken Johnson, Dee Paschal and Brooke Smith and six great- grandchildren. Four brothers, Lester Allman, Lee Allman, Ray Allman, Cleatus Allman and one sister, Bessie Mae Lentz preceded Mr. Allman in death.

A native of Kannapolis, N.C., Mr. Allman was a veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict and retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sgt. after 30 years. He served with the Military Police at Fort Gordon and Downtown Augusta. He was also a member of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia.
