Eldest son of Eugenius A. Nisbet and Amanda Melvina Fitzallen Battle. He married (1) Virginia Jones on 20 Sep 1849 in Ga. He married (2) Frances "Fannie" J. Evans on 18 Jan 1857 in Burke Co., GA. He was a planter in Houston Co., Ga. C.S.A. 4th Lt. Jackson's Artillery of Macon. He graduated from Oglethorpe University in 1844.

"Charles E. Nisbet, the oldest son of Hon. Eugenius A. Nisbet died very suddenly on his plantation in Houston county, of a congestive chill on Friday last, and was buried from the residence of his father in Macon, last Sunday evening. Mr. Nisbet was forty four years old and left behind a widow and an interesting young family."
