Author. He was a 19th Century American author, as well as a publisher, philologist, and educator. He is credited with at least 41 books. Some of his more famous works include "Friday Afternoon Dialogues" in 1879, "An Iron Crown" in 1885, "The Man Behind" in 1888, "My Invisible Partner" in 1898, which may have been his most famous book, and a study of the Mexican linguistics, "The Primitive Aryans of Mexico" in 1908. He also wrote stage dramas. He lived in Chicago, Illinois and died in Hot Springs, Arkansas due to complications from "acute gastritis."
