Barbara Bailey, daughter of the late Conrad Shelby and Elizabeth Myrten Austin, was born on August 8, 1934, in Morehouse, Missouri, and departed this life on April 1, 2022, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 87 years.
Mrs. Bailey was a former veterinarian assistant and real estate broker. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Dexter, the Missouri Veterinarian Auxiliary, and the American Veterinarian Auxiliary.
On December 31, 1969, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Dr. E. G. Bailey Jr. Dr. Bailey preceded her in death on July 24, 2008.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jim Shelby; by three sisters, Carolyn Ross, Linda Crow, and Renda Shelby; and by her grandson, Cody Hendley.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 224 E Stoddard Street, Dexter, Missouri.
