She was the daughter of Evan E. Bailey and Martha Martin Bailey, and was the wife of Willie Cornelius Arnette.

From the December 13, 1964 edition of The Robesonian:

Mrs. Minnie Bailey Arnette, 72, widow of W. C. Arnette, died Monday night at her home on Saxon Avenue. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. on Biggs Funeral Chapel by Rev. David McCarty, pastor for East Lumberton Presbyterian Chapel. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy Brigman of Lumberton and Mrs. George Lewellen of Dillon, S.C.; four sons, Willie Arnette of Dillon and Hart, Woodrow and Otto Arnette of Lumberton; two sisters, Mrs. Johnson Lane and Mrs. Hattie Bowen of Lumberton; 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
