A graduate of Eastern Illinois University in 1911, a teacher for many years in a one-room school in Jasper County, IL, and an active member of many women's organizations and Eastern Star. After V.A.'s death, she moved to Columbus, Georgia and went on many travels and cruises. She moved back to Illinois many years later and spent the last several years of her life there. She was a kind, quiet, unassuming and gentle woman.
