All that knew Helen described her an outgoing and in-charge lady. She was a tennis champion in her town and worked her way up in the telephone company from operator to manager. She traveled quite a bit for her position and anyone who met her remembered her for her style and conversation.
Helen also loved to travel for pleasure embarking on a memorable trip to Europe and one to South America. She also was fond of a good road trip gathering relatives young and old into her black Buick Le Sabre to a trip across country or to Canada when the spirit moved her.
Helen had one daughter and two grandchildren. After her retirement, Helen still loved to talk and often reached out to people near and far over the phone. She remained in her childhood home until her death just short of her 87th birthday.
