Cannon, Hugh Jenne, a member of the General Board of Y. M. M. I. A., was born-Jan. 19, 1870, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Geo. Q. Cannon and Sarah Jane Jenne. He had an active life in the publishing business, of which his father was a pioneer, being editor of the "Juvenile Instructor." Besides editing the Sunday School magazine, Hugh J. was a member of the Sunday School Board for twenty-seven years and was president of the Liberty Stake, Utah, for twenty years. His first mission at the age of twenty years ended in a year and a half when he accompanied the body of his brother, David H. Cannon, who had died in the German Mission, to Utah. He accompanied Elder David O. McKay on a tour of inspection to nearly all the missions of the Church in 1920 and 1921, and was editor of the "Improvement Era." He died Oct. 6, 1931.
