Lynzo's birth name is Orlon Lynzo Braddock Vaughn.
He is the son of William Neslon 'Will' Vaughn & Mary Sue (Snow) Vaughn.
He married Delcie Lucille Self on February 19, 1955.
Together they have five children.
Their names are,
Randy Lynn
Tresa Deaun
Robi Gean
Jimmie Dale
& Tracy Gale
Lynzo is survived by his wife, Lucille, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lynzo was preceded in death by his parents and all his brothers and sisters except one sister, Fern Reynolds, who lives at Jasper, Arkansas.
Lynzo is known to anyone that knew him very well at all as simply Lynn or Doc.
The story told to me by my grandma, uncle Doc's mom, as to how he got the nickname 'Doc', is this... when he was a little boy and anyone would get sick, no matter what was wrong with them, he would run and get a box of baking soda and a spoon and be ready and waiting to fix them right up. There's no telling how many people, to humor a little boy, swallowed a spoonful of his 'treatment'.
Most of the nieces and nephews refered to him as uncle Doc.
And what an uncle he was. He could and would sit for hours telling stories alone or with other family members of scary adventures he knew of or one of his favorites... haint tales. The scarier the story got the lower his voice would go and one and all would be completely enthralled by his tales. Most were of the shinanigans he pulled with his dog or with his brothers. Being the baby he never lacked for attention and love. This good fortune followed him all his life. To know him was to truly love him.
In his later years, for his kids and grandkids, he wrote a book of his memories as a small boy and his adventures with his dog, Ole Jeff.
I was blessed enough to get a copy of my Uncle Doc's book. During the first week I had it I would read a little every evening. There were times my eyes teared with laughter and times they teared with sorrow. So many of these stories I've heard him tell in person and some of them involve Uncle Doc's brother, Joe. Joe is my daddy and to hear once more these stories that I've heard both of them tell over and over through out my life was both a joyful and a painful thing. As daddy was so fond of saying, "There'd be no rainbow without the rain."
I wouldn't trade this book and my memories of this man, my Uncle Doc, for diamonds and gold.

Our loss here is just one more addition to our family waiting for him on the other side... what a reunion that must have been.

When I get where I'm going
on the far side of the sky
The first thing that I'm gonna to do
is spread my wings and fly
I'm going to land beside a lion
and run my fingers through his mane
or I might find out what it's like
to ride a drop of rain.
When I get where I'm going
there'll be only happy tears.
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
and I'll leave my heart wide open,
I will love and have no fear.
When I get where I'm going
don't cry for me down here.

Little did we know that day
that our Lord would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
though you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same
but as God calls us one by one
the chain will link again

Sunshine fades and shadows fall,
But memories of you outlast them all.
Unseen, unheard, you're always near,
Still loved, still missed, still very dear.
