Major League Baseball Player. Born Oswald Louis Bluege in Chicago, Illinois, he was a versatile infielder making his debut with the Washington Senators on April 24, 1922. For eighteen seasons, he played his entire career with the Washington Senators (1922-39), to include an All-Star game appearance in 1935 and played in all three Senators World Series appearances (1924-25 and 1933). He concluded his playing career with a record of 1751 hits, 883 runs scored, 43 homeruns, 848 runs batted in, a .272 batting average and a .961 fielding percentage. After retiring in 1939, he went on to manage the Senators (1943-47), compiling a career managerial record of 379 wins and 394 loss. He died at age 84 in Edina, Minnesota.
