Mary Prom Peters followed her brothers, Mathias, John and Hubert, and sister, Kate Prom Strauss, as they went westward in search of farm land. She spent some time working in a household as maid in Lake City before marrying Nickolas Peters, a widow, with a young daughter, Christina, on May 24, 1881 in Bellechester.

Age 83 years, 3 months, and 25 days. Died June 30th, 1942 of cerebral hemorrhage. Signed by Dr. Liffrig of Goodhue, MN on July 3rd, 1942. Services at Bellechester Catholic church on July 3rd, 1942 by Rev. Jochann of Bellechester at 9:30 a.m. Buried on the same day at Bellechester cemetery. Death certificate mailed to Chas. Cliff, clerk of Chester Township. Date of birth given as March 5th, 1859. Pallbearers were: Art Gregoire; Steve Strauss; Henry Strauss; John Prom; Henry Prom; and Henry Lorge. Casket selected by children (Nick and son).
