Professional Hockey Player. Born in Bratislava, Slovakia, he was a goalie for Czechoslovak National Team, (1972-82). Nicknamed “Marco” by his teammates, he still holds the Czech league record for goalies with 571 games played. He closed out his playing career in Germany, where he played for Augsburger EV (1978-79) and SC Riessersee, (1979-82). He was known as a legendary goalie in Europe and was Slovakia's greatest goalie of all time. He died at age 52 from a heart attack at his home in Düsseldorf, Germany.
