US Congressman. From 1915 to 1917 he served as a Colonel in the 3rd Regiment of the Hawaii National Guard and as a member of the Territorial Senate, 1913 to 1921. In 1922, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of J. Kuhio Kalanianaole, serving until 1923. He declined to be a candidate for re-nomination, engaged in sugar planting, was a member Hawaii House of Representatives in 1933 and a member of the State Senate, 1934 to 1937.
