She was the daughter of Jacob Rhoads and Katherine Haas.
She married Abraham Close Hodge on 11 August 1831 in Selinsgrove.

She was originally buried in the Old City Cemetery on Fort Moore Hill in downtown Los Angeles. Fort Moore was the old site of the Mormon Battalion's camp. This cemetery was eventually removed by the city, and on July 20, 1903, her body was exhumed and buried in the Rosedale Cemetery.
