Singer, Disc Jockey. He was a former member of the legendary Jordanaires who sang back up for Elvis Presley when he first started recording. Jarrett sang bass for Elvis from 1954-58 and also sang with him on his first tour in 1960 following Elvis' military service. He also appeared in several of Elvis' movies. In addition to Elvis, the Jordanaires also sang studio back up for Patsy Cline, Ricky Nelson, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis and literally thousands of other young and aspiring artists. The Jordanaires were, and are successful artists on their own having got their start in gospel music. After giving up touring and recording, Jarrett became a very successful disc jockey in Atlanta known as "Big Hugh Baby". He is in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. He died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
