Obituary: Eldon Advertiser

McKinley Combs, 63, Eldon, died Thursday at Columbia Regional Hospital.

He was born January 28, 1921, at Lothair, KY, a son of McKinley and Merza Combs. His mother survives at Winchester, KY. He was married on July 13, 1945, at Whitesburg, KY to Betty Louise Botkin, who survives at the home.

Mr. Combs moved to Eldon in 1960 from the state of California. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of a Masonic Lodge in Covington, KY. He was employed as a mail carrier in Eldon with the U.S. Postal Service.

Other survivors include: one son, Jeremiah Combs, Eldon; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Hayes and Mrs. Rebecca Poertner, both of Eldon; four brothers, two sisters, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillip's Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. Jim Resa officiating. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today.
