Clara Larsen Adamson died of Natural Causes on October 22, 2008 at the Wentworth at Willow Creek Assisted Living Center in Sandy Utah.


She was born in Moab, Utah on November 18, 1914, a daughter of John P. and Mary Barton Larsen. Her early years were spent in Moab. She later moved with her family to Murray, Utah where she graduated from Murray High School. On June 17, 1937, she married Von G. Adamson in the Salt Lake Temple. Most of their married life was spent in the Holladay area. An active member of the LDS Church, she served in positions in YWMIA, Primary, as secretary of the Sunday School for several years, Ward Librarian, editor of the ward paper and Visiting Teacher. She had been active in the PTA serving for several years as chairwoman for the health committee. She had also served as a Pink Lady for seven years at St. Marks Hospital and was a driver for the Center for the Blind. She worked for the Salt Lake area United Fund from 1959 to 1967 and for the University of Utah Alumni Association from 1968 to 1979.


She is survived by sons V. Stephen (Betty), Barton L. (Sandra) and daughter Jane A. Doyle (Michael), eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great- granddaughter, and her brother Sterling B. (Mid) Larsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Von, brother J. Reed Larsen and sisters Golda L. Richards, Josephine Larsen and Edith Lewis. The influence of Clara's life upon her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident during her last days as her family met with her and shared memories. She was a great example and Matriarch. Her family and extended family was very dear to her.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay North Stake Canter, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East). Friends may call from 9:15 - 10:40 a.m. prior to services.
