Rest in Peace dear Henk. We all miss you so very much

Henk was born in the village of LOOSDUINEN, near The HAGUE- on a cold day.
He proudly served his country, when doing a 2 years duty in the Royal Dutch Marine Corps (founded on December 10, 1665) as a wireless operator.

When he left the Royal Dutch Marine, he appied for a Ham Radio Licence, eventually he got known under the callsign: PA3DSM.

Henk had a considerable amount of HAM Radio friends from all over the world.

In 1959 he started to work as a bandleader with his orchestra (in Germany). That job that he did for altogether three years allowed him to combine the need to earn money with his love for jazz, pianomusic and Italian songs.

One of the pictures on his memorial page shows Henk with King Hussein of Jordan, a Ham Radio friend whose callsign was JY1.
In 1984, Henk got an invitation to meet the Jordanian King during a state visit in the Netherlands (meeting the Dutch Queen Beatrix) in the House of Parliament.

Henk worked in his own business for about 40 years.

He loved books, above all reading interesting things about history.
In his youth, the local library did not have a book that he did not know.
Henk loved people, he was a very sociable, good-humoured and humorous person.

In the last 15 years of his life, Henk's health sadly got worse, but that did not stop him from being active in many ways.

He passed away from pneumonia.
