Her second marriage was to a German actor Robert Schilling. Upon her return to Russia, after the beginning of the First World War, she met an artist Sergei Sudeikin, whom she married in 1918. They emigrated to France after the Russian revolution. In 1921 she met Stravinsky for whom she left Sudeikin. They could only marry after his first wife died in 1939. She published memoires about her life with Stravinsky as well as their letters.
