US Congressman. He was a member of the Maryland State House of Delegates, 1807 to 1808 and elected as a Republican to the Eleventh Congress in 1809, serving until 1810. Reelected to the Twelfth Congress, he resigned to accept an appointment as clerk of the Court of Queen Anne's County, Maryland and held office until his death.
