She was a lovely, lovely lady and everyone loved her. Her artistic talents knew no bounds; family members and friends who were recipients of items made by her can actually say they own "treasures". Her speciality was items made of Swedish Embroidery, and she made a book which contained all the many, many Swedish Embroidery patterns that she herself created.
She was married (1) Herman Blohme on 25 December 1920 in Brooklyn, Kings, NY. They were the parents of Doris Blohme Hodges, Charles Herman Blohme, and Edythe Caroline Blohme Kaspar Dunne.
He died in 17 January 1935.
Lena married (2) to Cornelius "Neal" Francis Irving Lenihan on 29 May 1936 in Rego Park, Queens, NY. They were the parents of one son, Jeremiah Paul Lenihan. Neal preceded her in death on 16 April 1974.
When my grandmother reached middle age, her hair turned the most beautiful silver color---and it was so naturally wavy that she always said she couldn't do a thing with it! Like her husband, she also wore dark-rimmed glasses. They were a perfect match for each other, and complimented one another so well it was uncanny. I miss them both so much!!!
