Marilyn Sue Mayfield Fortin, 60 of Mulberry, KS died Wednesday September 30, 2009 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin , MO.
She was born January 19, 1949 in Wichita , KS the daughter of Everett and Kathleen Griffith Mayfield. She had lived the past 20 years in Mulberry, moving from Lafayette, CO.
She was a 1967 graduate of Wichita North High School.
Marilyn married Jim Fortin; they were later divorced.
She worked for the Pittsburg Morning Sun.
She was a member of the All Faith Church in Mulberry, KS. She enjoyed reading and attending the activities of her grandchildren, she also enjoyed racing.
Survivors include a daughter Regina Dunham of Arma, KS; a
sister Myrna Cullum of Wilburton, OK., a brother John Matson of Wichita and 2 granddaughters Chaylene Fortin and Lacey Dunham.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
