Betty Benton died Oct. 19 in Grass Valley. She was 82.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sat., Oct. 24 at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

She was born March 10, 1927 in Great Falls, Mont., to Peter Stevens and Mabel Seward.

She graduated from Alexandria High School in Alexandria, Minn.

She married Edwin R. Benton March 25, 1950 in Las Vegas.

She was a homemaker whose hobbies were her excellent baking and interior decorating. She was a Deaconess and taught Sunday School at the Calvary Bible Church, where she was a member for 35 years. Her faith and her family were the most important things in her life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Benton, in May 2002.

She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Sumner and Pamela Clark; son, Rick Benton; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of the Foothills, 11270 Rough and Ready Highway, Grass Valley, CA 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory in Grass Valley.
