Services for Sue Kyser are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Hilliard Funeral Home with Bro. E. K. Carter officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Kyser passed away at the age of 71 on January 10, 2010 in Tyler.
Nila Sue Grabeel Kyser was born August 28, 1938 in Wright City, Oklahoma to the late Jocephas Grabeel and Polly Matilda Rowe Grabeel. She had been a resident of Van for fifty years, previously living in Irving, where she also graduated from high school. She worked for Van Elementary School as a teacher's aide from 1974 to 2003, and was a long-time member of Van Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Tom, Billy and Bob Grabeel.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred Kyser of Van; children, Stacy Harrison and husband Adam of Van, and Tina Rodgers and husband Lane of Grand Saline, Celeste Strickland of Van, and Trisa Thomas of Ft. Worth; sisters, Belle Pendergrass and Margie Stanley; eight grandchildren, Niki, Zach, Zane, Shawn, Whitney, Rachel, Seth and Celeste; one great-granddaughter, Kearsten.
If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice Homeplace, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Monday night.

Sue was the person who originally submitted the majority of the submissions to Find A Grave for persons buried at Union Chapel Cemetery as well as taking the tombstone pictures and adding them to the submission. She was an avid genealogist and her work will be an asset for those seeking their ancestors for years to come. She will be truly missed.
