Denton, Texas - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. from the Byrd's Chapel Church of God in Franklin County for Candler Brooks, age 46 of Denton, Texas, who died on Monday in Texas.
The Revs. A. D. Gammill, Johnny Towns, Julius Roberts and John Ernest will officiate with burial in the Byrd's Chapel Cemetery.
Brooks was a native of Amite County. The body will lie in state at the Laird Funeral Home from 8-10 a.m. Thursday for visitation.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vivian Brooks of Denton, Texas; two sons, Philip and James Brooks of Denton; one daughter; Miss Cindy Brooks of Dallas, Texas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Brooks of Liberty, Miss.; five sisters; Mrs. Esther Paretti of New Orleans, La., Mrs Sylvia Holland of Meadville, Miss., Mrs. Faye Mullins of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Pauline Foster and Rachel Elmore, both of Liberty, Miss.; two brothers; Donald Brooks of Liberty, Miss., and Leslie Brooks of Magnolia, Miss.
Pallbearers: L. B. Mullins, Ken Elmore, Freddie Foster, Jim Sterling, Jimmy Dell Edwards and Don Byrd.
