Born in the Cherokee Nation East. Died in Indian Territory. Husb. of Mahala Cadle [1st marriage Elizabeth Bigby; 1 dau., Mary Jane Fields] F/o of 12 children. Owned stagecoach road hotel, store, saddlery, etc. which served the Indian Territory (Beattie's Prairie, Maysville, military road). The hotel was the meeting place (Civil War) for Genl. Stand Watie and Union genls. and their staffs for negotiating meetings, under truce. Some structures were extant in 1930's, in the care of his daughter, Sophronia (Milligan) buried here, last surviving child. He was the son of Chief Richard Fields, Jr. and Jennie Buffington of the Cherokee Nation. He was the full brother to Nancy Fields (Wm.Blythe,Sr.), b. 1793 TN; Ezekiel,Sr.; Dempsey; and Henry Fields. He was the half- brother to George Fields; Elizabeth (Blagg-Thompson); John Fields; Lucy Fields(Hickcs); James Fields; Delilah (J.C.Foreman); and Isobel Fields b. c 1812, (Dennis Wolf).
