W.C. resided in the Parsons area until 1924 when he moved to Kansas City, Mo. On Dec. 19, 1926, he married Augusta M. Kells. They lived in Kansas City until 1928 when they moved to Osawatomie. He opened an auto repair shop and later worked for the Strode and Eichorn Garage. He purchased the business in the early 1930's and started a new and used car agency which was known as B-Square Garage, and was an Oldsmobile dealership.

For several years after selling the garage in 1961, he was employed by Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Co. At the time of his death, he was a salesman for Southwestern Petroleum Corp. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Osawatomie Lions Club.

He was the father of one daughter, Sandra, and had three grandchildren.
