Died in Miami Florida but was buried at Rosehill in Chicago. He was in the US Army in 1898 and participated in the campaign in Puerto Rico. He was the Mayor of Washburn Wisconsin 1906 to 1908.

I. Lien of the local Masonic lodge, of which the deceased was a member. Mr. Sweet died Tuesday, February 16th in Chicago. Funeral services are being held Saturday of this week in Chicago. Martin Sweet was the last surviving member of a pioneer family of this community. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sweet, who settled in Washburn shortly after it was founded, died many years ago. Two brothers Charles and Will, and a twin sister, Mrs. Marion Hull of Superior (Margaret), are also dead. Mrs. Hull having died within the past year or two. The deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters, Ruth and Beverly, and a son, Harold. As a young man Martin Sweet was employed by the local drug firm of Owen & Frost. Later he operated his own drug store in the Kinney building on Bayfield street at Washington avenue. He and the late M. E. Doyle were co-partners in operating the old Opera House. Mr. Sweet was a public-spirited and civic-minded citizen who played an active part in local affairs. He served as president of the city council and in June, 1906, at a special election was elected mayor of the city, a post which he held until 1908. He left Washburn many years ago and was employed for a long time as a traveling representative for the Aladdin Lamp company. In recent years he has spent part of his time in Miami, Florida. He and his wife visited in Wasburn about five years ago.

Gravesite Details
I have been told by a volunteer there isn't a headstone. I don't know. It makes me sad, but given the fact that he passed not long after the depression, maybe that was the issue.
