Funeral services for Orville Blanton, 70, a native of Johnson County, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 2 at the Gregg St. Church of Christ in Christian Union in Washington Court House,OH with the Rev. Robert Kline officiating.
Mr. Blanton, who had spent most of his life in Washington Court House, died Saturday, September 29 in Fayette Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for five weeks.
He was a supervisor at Wright Patterson Air Force Base until his retirement in 1967.
His first wife, the former Jewel Stone and two children preceded him in death.
He is survived by his second wife,the former Mildred Dotson, two step children, Wade M. Dotson with the U. S. Army in Germany, Mrs.Sharon Stambaugh, Leander and four step grandchildren.
Also surviving are eleven brothers, John M., Herbert, Melvin, Chester and James of Oil Springs, Oscar, Ervin, Edward, Clarence, Grant and Hobart of Ohio, seven sisters, Mrs.Verna Collins, Mrs.Mella Stone, Mrs.Zella Jackson, Mrs.Stella Salyers, Mrs.Judy Wolf, Mrs.Beatrice Butler of Ohio and Mrs. Buretta Miller of Paintsville, one step brother, Fred Jackson,Springfield,OH.Burial was in the Washington Cemetery under the direction of the Kirk- Patrick Funeral Home.
