Alta is the daughter of Alonzo Edwin and Estella Mae (Whitcomb) Page. She married Floyd R. Rose on October 22, 1931. They adopted two girls: Sandra Jean Rose, who tragically died in a car accident at the age of 16, and Mary Jane Rose (High). They lived in Battle Creek, MI most of their married life. Alta loved roses and always had rose gardens. She also had a passion for antique and interesting plates and displayed them on plate racks along the tops of her walls.
