A resident of Portola Valley, California, Mr. Garcia was raised in San Jose and had family roots in Spain. He was the president and founder of Cinco Group Incorporated, which sold industrial products. The 62-year old devout Christian was known to be a prankster and kept physically active with tennis, golf and jogging. He graduated from San Jose University in 1961 and served in the Air National Guard in the 1960's. Although he never became a pilot, he had an intense interest in flying and airplanes and would often take his oldest daughter, Kelly, to the airport to watch the planes. He was proud when she got her pilot's license in 1992. Mr. Garcia was also survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Dorothy, their daughter Audrey Olive and their son Andrew Jr. He was returning home from a business meeting.
