My Beloved Grandmother ... "Laurie" as she was known was born in Warwick,Kent,Rhode Island. She was the daughter of Joseph Levesque and Emma Levesque (Tetrault) Laurie married Ernest E. Hanks and had two daughters; Doris Evelyn born 21 Sept 1929 and Mildred "Milly" Laurie born 16 March 1931. The family moved frequently for work living in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. I was her first grandchild and we had a very special relationship. She ALWAYS had time for me, no matter what was going on and I KNEW she LOVED me. Now, I am a grandmother to 13 beautiful grandchildren and I can still hear her songs to me... I am a better person today because of her wonderful example. Laurie loved The Lord and trusted in Him. Towards the end, she was being cared for in our home and had to go to the emergency room. I recall my father carrying her to the car and her final words to me were, "I wish The Good Lord would just take me home." And He did.. This precious woman has been the greatest influence in my life and I am forever grateful. Love you, Memere, Love, Susan
