Mrs. Thelma Denmark Bacon, 81, died Monday afternoon in the Statesboro Nursing Home after a long illness. The Bulloch County native had lived near Statesboro all of her life and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Colon Bacon, Baldknob, Ark., Bengie Bacon, Brooklet, and Shelton Bacon, Savannah; three daughters, Mrs. Nilaree Thomas, Statesboro, Mrs. Pearl Hagan, Pembroke, and Mrs. Edith Kirby, Lenora, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Alma Delgado, Miami, Fla.; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in the Smith-Tillman Mortuary chapel with Elder Howard Cox officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery.
