Alfred "Al" Di Mond was born on May 13, 1923, the only child of Alice Rose Ann Adams and Alfred Edward Di Mond, in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Indiana University and was a combat veteran of the US Navy during World War II. In 1946, he married Dorothy, the love of his life, and together they raised four children, Michelle (Mickey), Edward (Ed), Robert (Bob), and Diane (Dee). They were blessed to have nine grandchildren David, Laurie, Azure, Andrea, CJ, Lisa, Daniel, Justin, and Thomas. Al lived to become a great-grandfather three times. Al and Dorothy retired to Florida in 1981, and would make frequent drives together from Florida up to New Jersey to visit their grandchildren. After Dorothy's passing in 1995, Al would make the trip by himself. He lived out his last few years close to his family in Cherry Hill, and passed on surrounded by his children.
