Helen was born Feb. 5, 1914, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ted and Hilda Ness. She graduated from Central High School.
On April 3, 1937, she married Harold "Hy" Albeck in San Francisco. They lived in Huron, S.D., Peoria, Ill., and Minneapolis before retiring to Sioux City in 1981. Helen and Hy were totally committed to one another and celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death in 1996.
Helen was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including, Dean Albeck; her cousin, Dorothy Crary; and her goddaughter, Susan Peterson Boe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Vivian Malmberg.
