US Congressman. Born in St. Clair, Pennsylvania, he attended Fordham University New York City, graduated from the law department of Catholic University, Washington, D.C. in 1915, was admitted to the bar in 1919 and commenced practice in Casper, Wyoming. During World War I, served as a Lieutenant in the 8th Regiment, 3rd Brigade, US Marine Corps and was a Captain in the Wyoming State militia, (1919-21). He was deputy attorney general of Wyoming, (1919-23) and State auditor, (1923-29). In 1929, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-first Congress and to the next two succeeding Congresses, serving until 1935. An unsuccessful candidate for election, he resumed the practice of law, until he retired in 1965. He relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where remained until his death age age 81.
