U.S. Congressman. He graduated from St. Peter’s College, in 1913 and from the law department of Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., in 1924. He was Revenue Bureau, (1916-21), admitted to the District of Columbia bar in 1924, from the New Jersey bar in 1925 and commenced to practiced law in Jersey City. He was assistant corporation counsel of Jersey City, (1930-34) and served as the chairman of the Democratic State committee of New Jersey, for many years. In 1935, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth Congress and to the next nine succeeding Congresses, serving until 1955. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he was a member of New Jersey State Board of Public Utility Commissioners, (1955-60).
