Eunice Sanborn of Jacksonville, Texas stepped into eternal rest and the loving arms of her heavenly father Monday January 31, 2011 at the age 114. She claimed that title as of Nov. 4, 2010.
Eunice was born July 20, 1895 in Lake Charles, LA to Varina and Gus Lyons. They later moved to Texas in 1937.
Eunice married Joseph Orchin and had one child, Dorothy "Orchin" Hendrick. Later Joseph was killed in an accident. Eunice's second husband was Wesley Garrett and after his death Eunice married Grant Sanborn and had many wonderful years together. Having out-lived 3 husbands and her beloved daugther Dorothy who died at the age of 90 in January 2005. She loved the Lord with all her heart & always found him faithful. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, TX, where she loved helping others in anyway possible.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at First Baptist of Jacksonville, Texas, with Bro. Vernon Lee, Dr. John W. Gregson, and Dr. Edwin Crank officiating, under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home.
