Journalist, Broadcaster. Born in Stoke Newington, England, he received an honorary doctorate from Middlesex University and a scholarship to the City of London School. After teaching for a while he broke into journalism by joining a company that published newsletters about the property business and wrote a column for the Sunday Times. He was a popular regular presenter on BBC radio and was presented the Sony Radio Award for his talent. His interest in technology led to his presenting a series of Tomorrow's World, columns in computer magazines in the 1990s. His columns also won him the prestigious What the Papers Say Award. He died of cancer at age 47 in Westminster, England and his wife was noted cookery columnist, Nigella Lawson.
