Born to parents Stephen Hiram Dodd and Rebecca Ann Calhoun married Emily Louisa Reade 1862 and had 8 children:George Washington, Stephen Hiram, Marion Rachel, Emily Louisa, Charles Thomas Hicks, Joseph Monsell, Philetta Dalton, and John Augustus. Charles was a Civil war veteren serving twice the first as an enlisted 3 month term with company E 18 infantry PA and the second as a drafted solder in the Company B of the 52 regiment PA infantry. He was wounded in the war and received a pension which he shared with his second wife Rozella who it was determined after his death married him falsely being still married to her first husband and she went to prision for lying to the pension board in a claim to obtain her widows benifit. (you can not be a widow if you were not even a wife)
