Plaque dedicated to Billings at the Boylston Street gate of the cemetery. Billings is buried in an unmarked grave "on Boston Common". He was one of America's first composers, a notable characteristic of his work was the use of the " round" style in such pieces as "When Jesus Wept" creating a beautiful harmonius chorale sound from the staggering of simple but elegant phrasing.
