Military commander in the early Edo era (1603-1868). Hosokawa served the three great feudal leaders of his era, Nobunaga Oda, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Ieyasu Tokogawa. His wife, Tama, was a daughter of Mitsuhide Akechi, who betrayed Oda.
