Murder Victim. She was the second victim of serial killer David Berkowitz, also known as the "Son of Sam". Berkowitz shot and fatally wounded her while she was sitting in her fiance's car in Queens, New York City, New York. Her murder was the first to influence police authorities to look at similar recent murders and murder attempts, after which they determined they were confronted with a serial murderer. Berkowitz killed five other people and wounded seven others before being apprehended in 1977. He was sentenced to six life sentences in prison.
